From today, Friday, August 9, you can already enjoy in the movie theaters of Scary Stories to tell in the dark, the new work of the Norwegian director André Øvredal (Project: Troll Hunter) which, produced by Oscar-winning Guillermo del Toro ( The shape of the water), adapts to the cinema the saga of the same name by the author of children's horror books Alvin Schwartz, immortal partly thanks to the terrifying illustrations of Stephen Gammell. Del Toro and Øvredal have had to select only a few stories for this first film, although the director of El laberinto del fauno is already thinking about the sequel.

"There is 'High Beams' - about a woman who goes out for a drink and who, when she decides to return home alone, feels terrified because of a driver - that [Øvredal] really wants [to adapt]," he explains Del Toro in Comic Book. "I love 'The Ribbon' ['The Red Ribbon'] - about a young woman who is not able to take off a tie around her neck. I think she is also one of those ... The result of that story is so memorable, and it's very very short. It has a great visual gag. "

The US is moving forward, but little Mill Valley has managed to resist the changes that they are occurring. The shadow of the Bellows family is elongated, as are the frightening tales that the young Sarah left written inside her mansion.
