Despite the Society being renewed for a second season and I Am Not Okay With This I already had the scripts ready for a possible new installment after that great cliffhanger, Netflix has decided to cancel both series due to the coronavirus situation.

We've made the hard decision not to go ahead with the second season of 'The Society' and 'I Am Not Okay With This', explains the streaming platform in an official statement. "We are disappointed to have to make these decisions because of the circumstances created by COVID-19 and are grateful to the creators of both series: Jonathan Entwistle, Christy Hall, Shawn Leny, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry for 'I Am Not Okay With This'; Chris Keyser, Marc Webb and Pavlina Hatoupis for 'The Society'; and all the writers, cast and the team who worked non-stop to make these series for our members around the world
Although both series were very well received, uncertainty about production dates and the balance for the availability of distribution as large as The Society, along with unexpected budget increases due to coronavirus, has greatly influenced this sad decision.

Society revolves around a group of teenagers who must deal with the strange disappearance of their parents in New England. The group will have to discover what has happened to them as they try to survive on their own.
I Am Not Okay With This coming from the hand of them after The End of the F***ing World and revolves around a girl who must face the typical problems of teenagers and, in addition, the sudden emergence of telekinetic powers.
