In the interview, "Mandalorian" villain Giancarlo Esposito simply chided out that after the expected third season, a fourth season of the "Star Wars" real series will also be released on Disney+.
The second season of "The Mandalorian" opens on Disney+ on October 30. Season 3 is already in the works, but showrunner Jon Favreau is still planning ahead. As Giancarlo Esposito, best known from "Breaking Bad," joked, seasons 1 and 2 are supposed to be the preliminary work for Seasons 3 and 4 – the first time we've heard about the fourth season.

In an interview with PeopleTV, Esposito, who plays ex-imperial Moff Gideon in "The Mandalorian," explained the evolution of the "Star Wars" series:
"The second season of 'The Mandalorian' will be very interesting because you will slowly find out what the child has for strength and what it really means. In addition, the origin of the Dark Sword that Moff Gideon has is slowly revealed, and how it relates to 'The Clone Wars' and other series. You will also notice how big the world is. This universe is so big and there is so much to discover.
So I think the series is starting to do the preparatory work for the depth and breadth that comes in seasons 3 and 4, where the answers really begin."

ANSWERS IN SEASONS 3 AND 4
Giancarlo Esposito announces that answers will gradually be given around Baby Yoda and his connection to Moff Gideon, who is after all behind the little racker and has somehow got the hands of the famous Mandalorian weapon – the Darksaber – that "Star Wars" fans from the animated series "The Clone Wars" and "Rebels" know.
Esposito's statement doesn't sound like it's over after the fourth season of "The Mandalorian."

DISNEY AND LUCASFILM PLAN GROS
It is not surprising that at least four seasons of "The Mandalorian" are planned. The "Star Wars" reality series has become the center of the "Star Wars" expansion after just one season: it's popular with fans, as it hasn't been for a long time, and thanks to the cute baby Yoda, it quickly became known to non-fans.
While Lucasfilm is working on more seasons of "The Mandalorian," the release of the next "Star Wars" movie has recently been postponed until 2023, and it's still not known which movie it will be. The focus is on series, especially "The Mandalorian" – where the connections to the older animated series also target the fans who have long discovered the "Star Wars" series universe for themselves.
The second season of "The Mandalorian" will begin on October 30, 2020, on Disney+. If you still want to sign up for a subscription, you can do so via our affiliate link. We receive a commission at the end of the subscription, the price remains unaffected.
