Since the postponement of "No Time to Die," no stone has been left unheard in Hollywood. "Dune" and the upcoming DC blockbusters were also postponed – but "Matrix 4" was brought forward. New cinema release: 23 December 2021.
Film fans need to be especially strong these days. After all, some of the last great hopes for the cinema year 2020 have been blown up – or at least postponed. After Universal rescheduled "No Time to Die," Warner has now rescheduled properly.
"Dune" will not start until October 1, 2021, with a ten-month delay. Which also leads to the potential DC blockbusters like "The Batman", "The Flash" and "Shazam 2" being postponed, "Black Adam" was temporarily even completely removed from the calendar.

So while comic book enthusiasts have to practice patience for a while, at least fans of Neo, Trinity and Co. have reason to rejoice – because the launch of the new "Matrix" movie has really been brought forward by several months.
After we were able to inform you about the changed US date in our news about the latest shifts, there is now also the confirmation for Indian:
"Matrix 4" will be released in Indian cinemas on December 23, 2021 – and not only on March 31, 2022.

WE KNOW ABOUT "MATRIX 4"
While the content of the sequel is still largely left in the dark – it is supposed to be more than just a love story – we already know that in "Matrix 4" we get to see some celebrity newcomers in addition to some original stars.
In addition to director Lana Wachowski, the film also includes Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, and Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson.
New additions include "Aquaman" opponent Yahya Abdul Mateen II, "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris, Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Indian Max Riemelt, who was not in front of the camera for Lana Wachowski for the first time. He starred in the Netflix series "Sense8."
